Falling For Her (The Callahans #2) by Monica Murphy

Jake Callahan. Prince of the popular crowd.
My mortal enemy.
Gorgeous. All the girls want him.
Quarterback. All the boys want to be his friend. He’s the most popular boy in the senior class.
And he hates me.51211852._SY475_
Or so I thought.
What I mistook for hatred turns out to be…interest. There’s that thin line, right? It makes me crazy. I can’t stand it. Attraction, chemistry, whatever it is, I also can’t resist it.
And neither can he.
Together, we make no sense. The odds are against us. His friends definitely don’t approve. I’m not a part of their crowd. Not one of the cool kids. I don’t fit in, or so they say.
But that doesn’t stop him from falling for me.

And it won’t stop me from fighting for him.

4 stars!

First of all, look at that cover! It’s gorgeous. Second, Monica is a new to me author, and when I received this book on my Kindle, I dived right in.

Quarterback. All the boys want to be his friend. He’s the most popular boy in the senior class.
And he hates me.
Or so I thought.

In this book, we get Jake Callahan and Hannah Walsh’s story. The quarterback and the smart girl. When Jake’s friends push him to go talk to the girl sitting alone in the quad, he does just that. He will ask her to wear his jersey to the next game, and who would ever turn him down? No one.
So when Hannah coldly refuses, he’s shocked and humiliated.

Hannah is a ‘nobody.’ She hangs with her two friends Sophie and Marty, and they keep it low. Never attracting any attention. One day in the quad, she kind of overhears Jake’s friends dare him to approach her, and when he does, she’s furious. Never, in three years, has Jake even said one word or looked her way, and suddenly he’s there, asking her to wear his jersey. When she turns him down, she expects life to back to normal. But their crossed has passed, and this is how their story starts.

I read this book in one sitting, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chemistry between Jake and Hannah was off the charts. If you’re looking for a sweet enemies to lovers romance with some angst, read this book!
